The ANSeR algorithm, designed to assist in detecting neonatal seizures, was evaluated in a multicenter trial involving 256 neonates across eight centers. While ANSeR did not significantly improve the overall identification of individual neonates with seizures compared to conventional EEG, it did enhance the detection of seizure hours, correctly identifying a higher percentage of these periods. The algorithm shows promise, particularly for improving seizure detection accuracy in less experienced centers, although further research is needed.
