The study aimed to address the challenge of evaluating neck lymph nodes for metastatic thyroid carcinomas, a task that is both labor-intensive and requires considerable experience. The development of a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system was proposed to automate the identification and differentiation of metastatic lymph nodes, potentially improving clinical decision-making and efficiency. The CAD system was trained and tested on a dataset of lymph nodes to assess its effectiveness in this context.
