The study aimed to generate bone health index (BHI) curves for healthy Indian children using the BoneXpert AI application, which assesses bone age (BA) and provides a BHI and standard deviation score (SDS). By analyzing data from digitalized left-hand radiographs of 788 pediatric patients, the study found that the mean BHI and BHI SDS for Indian children were lower compared to Caucasian children, with differences most notable in older age groups. The study established reference BHI curves and percentiles for Indian children, which can aid in assessing bone health in this population.
