Detection of Colon Polyps

This study evaluated the impact of a real-time AI-based polyp detection system on polyp detection rates (PDR) during colonoscopy. In a trial involving 150 patients, the AI system significantly improved the PDR from 34.0% to 38.7%, particularly enhancing the detection of polyps smaller than 6 mm. While the AI system did not affect the detection of larger lesions, further research with a larger sample size is needed to confirm these findings.
