iQ-Solutions

iQ-Solutions

Description

The modern approach to managing multiple sclerosis (MS) aims for No Evidence of Disease Activity (NEDA), focusing on no clinical relapses, no MRI disease activity, and no disability worsening. iQ-Solutions analyzes brain MRI scans in Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) format and was developed using more than 8,500 brain scans annotated by trained neuroimaging analysts. In a validation study involving 397 MRI scan pairs from routine practice, the Al-based tool demonstrated higher sensitivity (93.3%) compared to standard radiology reports (58.3%) in detecting lesion activity, without significant loss of specificity. This Al tool also matched the performance of a core clinical trial imaging lab in measuring lesion activity and brain volume loss, a key biomarker of neurodegeneration in MS, suggesting that Al-enhanced imaging could significantly improve the precision of MS management.
