Early cancer detection significantly improves survival rates, and the team is exploring the use of whole-body MRIs (wbMRI) for detecting cancers in children. SickKids, in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), is leveraging machine learning to enhance early cancer screening in pediatric patients. Given the challenges of imaging young children, such as changing bone density and scanning difficulties, machine learning aims to aid clinicians in identifying cancer early and minimizing the need for aggressive treatments.
